Bold Style: The Online Comic Strip
by Jon Spengler

WHAT IS BOLD STYLE?

Hmm. That is a good question. To answer this inigma of an inquirey we will need to journey into the recesses of my conscienceness, to a period where Bold Style was naught found, just a though, an idea. In other words, I'll have to remember stuff.

Heading

Bold Style is a seriel daily comic strip that is about four character that have to deal with more than ordinary situations. To give you the vibe of the strip, one of the main characters can use magic (though she is not evil!), one can build huge weapons of mass destruction because comics, and another an shape shift, or polymorph. That is the vibe. Weird.

And weird is what I'm going for, also. To the extreme, with big long stories that could take a month or two to resolve. Now, I realize that by doing this I could put myself in a position to be compared to the greatest comic strip ever to grace the internet: Sluggy Freelance. Needless to say, this is something that I really do not want to happen. Don't get me wrong, though. I love the strip, but the problem is that thousands and thousands of others do also! He is a webcomic giant that could easily snuff me out with a flick of an earlobe, even though he wouldn't do that, the reader would. When you see something that is close to something that you really like (chances are, you like sluggy freeance. you just do.) your brain goes off on a tangant saying "Hey, I can get better weird comics over at[insert comic]!" So I am trying to distance myself from them. I don't know how yet, but I will.

I'm going to stay with Bold Style for a long time, hopeing to break my habbit of starting something really promising, then stopping for a stupid reason. Usually when it gets hard. Oh well. That's not going to happen here! No sir! *heh* *heh* Nope! ¬_¬;;

History of Bold Style

Here is the short version: staring over lost. Here is the long version: I started a personal website called Jon's Prosaic Page, where I complained, said things were cool, and basically did some pretty neato stuff. It was a hit at school. And one of the main features was Bold Style, the comic mainly about computers and video games. It was great, and I did get to show off my mad drawing skillz for a short while. But I soon got tired of writing of the long articles and finding the images and doing the webpages and fixing the bugs and putting up with Xoom, so Jon's Prosaic Page was taking down and Bold Style with it, running a short but sweet run of 6 comics. (over about a moth, mind you.) But I still loved to draw comics, so this was the next step in the latter to success.

Frankly, I've run out of ideas. I'll think of more stuff to add here, and if you have any questions, email them to me so I can get a Q&A started!
